PHYSIOTHERAPY MORNINGSIDE

WHAT IS IT?

Physiotherapy helps take patients from where they are right now, to where they want to be, doing what they enjoy. Physiotherapy helps to diagnose and rehabilitate numerous musculoskeletal conditions through various treatment techniques. Patients are progressed along a rehabilitation plan that helps build resilience and ensure they can cope with the demands of their lives.

Here at Game Time, we have a 5-Step method to ensure the residents of Morningside are provided with the best rehabilitation plan possible. Each step is crucial in getting you back to your best with sustained results.

THE GAME TIME METHOD

STEP 1: SUBJECTIVE ASSESSMENT

Firstly, your physiotherapist will ask a series of questions to better understand your unique story and presentation. Learning more about you, your daily stressors and goals from rehabilitation, starts to help shape a primary diagnosis and important milestones to target during your treatment.

STEP 2: MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT

Secondly, your physiotherapist will conduct a thorough objective assessment, taking you through a series of movements and special tests. This helps provide further information and evidence for certain diagnoses that may be at fault. Not only is the therapist looking for a specific diagnosis, but they are also searching for potential contributing factors to your pain, that need to be addressed for sustained results.

STEP 3: EXPLANATION & GAME PLAN

Then your therapist will sit you down and explain their findings and create a game plan. After this whiteboard session where they will speak to you using everyday language, you will know what is going on, why it has happened, what your rehab will look like and the treatment dosage to ensure you get a great result.

STEP 4: TREATMENT

The next part of your consultation involves effective treatment techniques. Now depending on your presentation and unique condition, this may involve numerous manual therapy techniques or exercise rehabilitation, to help reduce your symptoms quickly.

STEP 5: INDIVIDUALISED EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION

Finally, your therapist will demonstrate your home exercise program, which will be accessible through our mobile app. This app allows you to view your exercises, including reps, sets, intensities and video demonstrations whenever you want, to ensure your rehab continues to progress outside the clinic.

WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Whenever someone is not moving as well as they were or they want to be, Physiotherapy can be of service. Physiotherapists most commonly treat injuries and conditions of the musculoskeletal system (muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons and bony injuries). Common areas of pain include the neck, shoulder, elbow, back, hip, knee and ankle.

Whether you have sustained an acute injury in sport or at home, or have a long-term overuse injury that has never gone away, systemised Physiotherapy interventions have been proven to provide patients with great outcomes.

Rehabilitation plans are created around each patient’s unique goals and aspirations. An athlete who wants to return to their sport performing at a high level, will have a totally different program to someone who wants to be able to play with their grandchildren without back pain.

One of the most common contributing factors to a future injury is a history of injuries. Because of this, physiotherapists can help formulate a long-term plan, with straggles/exercises/methods, to maintain function and strength, long-after you have been discharged from their care.
