HOW TO UTILISE SPORTS INSURANCE

STEP 1: SUBMIT YOUR CLAIM FORM

 

The first step in processing your insurance claim is submitting your form. While we will help you every step of the way, we cannot submit this for you. Your physio and our reception team will help provide the form and educate you on who needs to fill what parts out (a combination of you, the club and a physio/doctor depending on the insurer). This should be completed as soon as possible to get the claim underway.

STEP 2: CONFIRMING YOUR CLAIM HAS BEEN SUBMITTED

 

Once you have completed the form, it's important to confirm it has been accepted. Wait 5 minutes after you send your email and call the insurer to confirm they received it. During the call it's important to gain the following details and write them down:

  • Who is your claims manager

  • What is their email

  • What days do they work

  • What is their direct line to contact

STEP 3: COLLECTING RECEIPTS

 

Once you have confirmation that your claim has been submitted, you can now submit paid invoices to your claims manager. To get paid invoices, please email info@gametimephysio.com.au and ask for paid invoices at either a weekly, fortnightly or monthly cadence. We will then load this request into our system and have them generated for you consistently.

STEP 4: SUBMITTING RECEIPTS

 

Once you have a receipt, you can submit that to your claim manager for payment. Once you have emailed a paid receipt, wait 5 minutes, then call your case manager (on the direct line you recorded earlier) and confirm receipt of the invoice. It is critical that you ask the case manager when this will be reimbursed. Note that date in your diary and follow up (via phone), if that payment does not process by the due date.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

 

  1. Your insurance claim is voided if you return to sport. Please keep this in mind as it does not release you from any rehab obligations you might have with us. In the event that your rehab proceeds faster than normal and you're cleared to play (by us) prior to the rehab end date, we will cancel your rehab agreement early!

  2. If you do not follow up all emails with a call, do not have the expectation to hear back from the case manager. In our experience assisting in 100's of rehab claims, this is the only way to ensure you're claim is processed in a timely manner. You almost jump the cue if you continually communicate with them.

  3. Please note that insurance requires you to pay for the physiotherapy services first. Only with a paid receipt can you be reimbursed. The more on to it you are, the less time you're out of pocket.
